Lion and Lamb lying down together in peace
"The wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf and the lion and that fatling together, and the little child shall lead them." Isaiah 11:6
This has long been held up as a poetic image of God's ultimate desire and will for creation, the Kingdom of God. We are part of that kingdom and we are ourselves a part of the answer to that prayer. God entrusts us to do our part to make today a Kingdom day, a day of peace, joy and reconciliation for all creation.

O God, the author of peace and the lover of concord, to know you is eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your humble servants, in all the assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
